About Caning Corner

As a kid I loved making things. Whether it was dinner and baked goods, Christmas presents, or something to keep my hands busy, I was always creating. I also enjoyed fixing things. Either repairing something that was broken, or taking something apart to see how it worked and then putting it back together. Here at Coral's Caning Corner, I get to combine both of these passions. While repairing what once was broken, I'm also creating something new that will be passed down to many generations. Bringing back to life these precious heirlooms and this lost art is my mission at Caning Corner.

I’m Coral, a young artist and caner out of Scottsburg Indiana. I’m the second youngest out of nine kids. I’m a proud graduate of the Vincent Homeschool Academy and owner of Coral’s Caning Corner.  I stumbled upon caning accidently, and loved it ever since. After interning with a gentleman, and taking a couple classes back in 2024 I decided this was something I wanted to pursue. I love looking at old patterns, repairing precious heirlooms, and making new pieces to pass down to the next generation. My hobbies include disc golf, ultimate frisbee, wood turning, playing board games, and taking care of animals.
